Wolfsbane are a hard rock/heavy metal band formed in Tamworth, England featuring singer Blaze Bayley, who went on to join Iron Maiden in 1994.

Recently reformed British Heavy metal act (As of 9th October 2007 confirmed to be supporting The Wildhearts in December 2007)

They signed to Def American records, and Rick Rubin produced their first album, Live Fast, Die Fast. They were the support act for Iron Maiden's UK tour at the time their All Hell's Breaking Loose Down at Little Kathy Wilson's Place EP was released. A second full album Down Fall the Good Guys followed in 1991, giving them their only UK Chart entry with Ezy charting at 68.

Being an English band, signed to an American record label did not work out well and Def American dropped the band as they felt they were not selling well enough. This did not stop the band being voted the UK's best unsigned act, by the time their live album, Massive Noise Injection, was released in 1993 on the Bronze Company label.

In 1994 the band released their most accomplished work to date, the self-titled Wolfsbane, again on the Bronze Company label. However when Bruce Dickinson quit Iron Maiden, Blaze Bayley got the gig which pretty much put an end to Wolfsbane.

The remaining members of Wolfsbane (Jeff Hateley, Jase Edwards and Steve 'Danger' Ellett) joined with Jez Spencer to form Stretch in 1995. They released a 6-track mini-album World of Stretch on the Cottage Industry label.

The band had a loyal fan base which they referred to as the HMS (Howling Mad Shitheads) which adourned many of the bands t-shirts.

On September 9th 2007 Wolfbane reunited for a one off short set at the Rock of Ages Festival, Tamworth, England

Wolfsbane have reformed to perform their first UK tour in 13 years playing as support to headliners The Wildhearts in December 2007, they will be playing at 17th December - Wolverhampton Civic, 18th December - Newcastle Academy, 19th December - Manchester Academy, 20th December - Glasgow Academy, 21st December - London Astoria.

Jason 'Big Jase' Edwards is currently a record producer having most recently produced and mixed the self titled Wildhearts album and the new Blaze Bayley album, and is also one of three guitarists in Ginger and the Sonic Circus (project of Ginger, songwriter/frontman of the Wildhearts), and also plays guitar for The God Damn Whores, alongside 'Random' Jon Poole (formerly of The Cardiacs, previously stand-in bassist for The Wildhearts and also in the Sonic Circus), Denzel (also of the Sonic Circus) and Robochrist.
