Tommy Jönsson (born March 4, 1976) is a Swedish football player, who plays defender for Halmstads BK.
Career
He started his career in the club GIF Nike and at the age of 16 moved to Malmö FF, where he played for 6 years, in 1998 he decided to go to Halmstads BK and have played there ever since. Since 2003 he have been Halmstads BKs team captain, he succeeded Petter Hansson.
On 2 July 2008 against Hammarby IF, 1-1, he played his 400th match totaly for Halmstads BK, 245 Allsvenskan matches and 155 Svenska Cupen.
National team
He have represented Sweden 3 times in 2003. He was part of the starting line-up against both Qatar[1], victory 3-2, and Thailand[2], victory 4-1, and then coming on as a substitute against Croatia[3] , defeat 1-2.
