The United States Special Army Cadets Program (USSACP) is a San Juan, Puerto Rico-based voluntary youth program for children ages 8–17. It is not associated with the US government. Its motto is Vincit Amore Patriae: with love to our country, we'll win.
The program is organized in a pseudo army reserves structure with Saturday meetings said to provide training in:
- rappeling
- mountain climbing
- navigation using maps, compasses and terrain features
- marksmanship and firearms safety
- first aid
- water survival
The program's website explains that it focuses on promoting self-discipline, confidence and character and excludes prospective members with crime or drug abuse records or poor academic achievement.
"Our Mission is to provide Puerto Rico youth, the opportunity to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually through the promotion of the military arts and sciences while instilling a sense of personal and national pride, self-respect, self-confidence and overall well being through the USSACP core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment."
