The Soon Valley (Urdu: ???? ???) or Soon Sakesar is located in the northwest of Khushab District, Punjab, Pakistan.
The Soan Valley starts from Pothvar village and ends in Sakesar which at 5010 feet is the highest peak of the Salt Range. The valley is 35 miles (56 km) long and averages 9 miles (14 km) wide[citation needed]. Important towns in the valley are Chitta, Sabhral, Khoora, Nowshera, Kufri, Anga, Ugali, Mardwal, Dhadhar, Uchali and Bagh Shams-ud-Din. Resorts to visit are Kanhatti Garden, Sodhi Garden, Da'ep and Sakesar are resorts to visit. The Awan tribe is settled in Soon Valley.
Pail-Piran is one of the villages of the Soon valley that comes immediately after Padhrar on to wat to Khushab from Chakwal district.It is home to Hashmi Sadat,descendents of Baha Ud din Zakkariya Multani who in turn belonged to Habbari Sadat who once ruled Sind.For details see books like Tazkarra E Baha ud Din Zakkariyya(By Maulana Noor Ahmad Afridi)and Anwar E Ghousia. The family tree leads to Hubbair bin asad(Hubbaira tul Asadi) who was one of the companion of the Prophet(PBUH) as well.On the top of village Pail-Piran is tomb of Pir Khawja Noori son of Pir Ali Qatal who was grandson of Sadar Ud din arif Billah,son of Hazrat Baha Ud Din Zakariyya.The Sadat of Pail-Piran are closely related to Pirs of Bhera( Pir Karam Shah Al Azhari),Pir Khara,Karooli Piran,Pir of Thoha Bahadur(Syed Abid Hussain Shah),Pirs of Karsal,Khanwal and Marmula etc. The distinguished personalities include Pir Nowbahar Shah,Dr.Pir Wali Pir(Pir Walayat Shah,Kalu Pir and lately Syed Sajid Hussain Shah,Dr.Syed Wajid H.Pirzada,Pir Majid Hussain Shah and Pir Zahid Hussain Shah(Zaidi Pir).

Transportation
Soon Valley is accessible through public transport from Islamabad (M2 Balkasar Interchange), Lahore (M2 Kalar Kahar Intrechange), Sargodha, Khushab and Mianwali. It is about more than an hour from Khushab, from Islamabad you can enter in valley through Pail-Piran (via Jabah road) or via Sodhi, coming from Chakwal or direct from Jaba coming via Talagang. After crossing Jabah town, Ahmadabad, Khabakki town, Makrumi Chouk and Mardawal are passed, before reaching the main town of Soon valley - Naushehra. Transport for surrounding villages is available from Naushehra. For Khushab and other eastern villages the bus/taxi stop is Mardwal Chowk while for villages west of Naushehra Y-Cross is the bus/taxi point.
Villages west of Naushehra are Sabhral, Kufri, Koradhi, Uchhali, and Chittah before reaching the Pakistan Air Force Base of Sakesar.
Villages to the north west of Naushehra are Sirhal, Shakarkot and Anngah and Ugali.
Villages to the north east of Naushehra are Mardowal, Dhadar, Ahmadabad, Khabakki and Jabah.
Villages to the south west of Naushehra are Surraki and Jahlar.
Villages to the south of Naushehra are Chamraki and Sodhian. but there is only paved way for these villages.
Villages to the east of Naushehra are Dhakah, Mirokah Dhakah, Jalay Wali, (Uchhalah is not on the main road), Sodhi Jai Wali, Kaliyal, Khurrah, and Kathwai. Padhrar and Pail-Piran are part of soon valley and fall on Chakwal-Khushab road.
There are scattered colonies of certain families which are called Dhok. Usually at each Dhoke there are two to ten houses.

Tribe
The main tribe of the area is the Awan tribe settled in the Soon valley with Malik as sub cast is used by the locals, such as Pirkal in Jallay wali, Majhial in Mardwal, Lalaal, Bazral , Chhatal in Ugali, Phatwal and Mianwaddal in Anga and so on. In the valley Awan's are known by their sub castes. A majority of the people are serving in the armed forces of Pakistan. Other professions like education, business, transportation and agricultural are also adopted by the locals. The village Pail-Piran however is inhabited by Hashmites(Hashmi Sadats,who belong to Habbari( The Arab rulers of Sind) ancestory through Hazrat Baha ud Din Zakkariya of Multan.
Personalities
Pir Nowbahar of Pail-Piran was once the key personality on political landscap of the Valley.Other personalities of Pail-Piran are Kalu Pir,Dr.Pir Walayat Shah(Dr.Wali Pir),Syed Sajid Hussain shah,Dr. Syed Wajid Hussain Pirzada.In village Pail Piran is shrine of Pir Khawja Noori,descendent of Hazrat Baha ud Din Zakkariya of Multan. Mardwal village is known for Shah Dil Awan (Urdu poet and writer of Manzar e Soon).
Angah village is known for the late Ahmed Nadim Qasmi (poet). It was the school of Pir Mehr Ali Shah, Pir of Golra Sharif Rawalpindi: also Shah Shraf Kalandar's family(Pir Ghulam jeelani),the scholar Maulana Ghulam Murshid (Khatib Badshahi Mosque Lahore) came from this village. Zaheer Babar editor of Imroz and neurosurgeon Dr Ahmed Bakhsh are others from the village. Ugali village has an emerging poet Nazir Ahmed Mukhlis.
Kufri villageis famous for religious personalities like Hafiz Muhammad Bakhsh, Peer Aziz Ahmed, Moulana Ahmed Raza. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Malik child specialist of Jinnah Hospital Lahore, Ahmad Raza Awan Advocate of GK Foundation, and Commander Mehboob Alam Shaheed also belong to Kufri.
Khabakki village is known for its beautiful lake and its natural beauty and also for its poets and scholars e.g Yousaf Gibrael and Iqbal Dost due to his Urdu poetry books including Jasm-e-Khudi (which is being translated into English) and Aap Kenaam.
Naushahra village is a regional headquarters, with health facilities, markets, police stations, a court and telephone exchange. The famous village in this area is Araeen with persons like Sobedar Mohammed Lateef MA Islamyat and Khateeb in the local mosque, Muhammad Rafique Senior Headmaster (Islamiya High School Lahore), Muhammad Hanif Malik Operations Mangager UBL Sargodha zone.
Columnist Abdul Qadir Hassan (Khurrah) and scholar Syed Ahmad Saeed Hamadani belong to this area. From the village of Sabhral is a renowned neurosurgeon Ghaus Muhammad Malik. The village of Sodhi has produced Brigadier Ghulam Muhammad Malik. Malik Muhammad Sarwar Awan (late) of Naushehra was a historian. His house is now a museum.
Uchhali is the second most important village of the Soon Valley. Persnalities are Dr Nasir Khan and Sargodha Malik Khuda Bakhsh.
