The Institute was founded in 1988and has continued to grow in stature ever since.The Engineering College is affiliated to Magadh University in Bihar. The institute is named after Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India's first Minister of Education, a great nationalist and educationist. The Institute is popularly called MACET. The college has campus in a sprawling 19 acres of land at Neora located in the district of Patna which is 9 km from the Danapur railway station.
