bauma main entrance (2007)
The Internationale Fachmesse für Baumaschinen, Baustoffmaschinen, Bergbaumaschinen, Baufahrzeuge und Baugeräte (bauma) is a trade fair held tri-annually in Munich, Germany. Mainly, engineering vehicles and tools are shown for a duration of seven days.
With an area of 540.000 m², it is the largest fair in the world. It is hosted by Messe München International (MMI) at Riem fairgrounds (Neue Messe München), 48°08'08?N 11°41'55?E? / ?48.1355, 11.6986Coordinates: 48°08'08?N 11°41'55?E? / ?48.1355, 11.6986 , in the southeastern part of the city.
The 28th fair has been held from April 23rd to April 29th, 2007 and was an all-time record regarding visitors (˜500,000 which is a raise of 7% compared to the 2004 fair) and exhibitors (3,041 which is a raise of 20% compared to the 2004 fair)[1]. The next fair will be held from April 19th to April 25th, 2010.
Since 2002, a similar fair is held in Shanghai, China (the fourth being held in November, 25 to 28, 2008).
