Fareham is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.
Boundaries
It has similar, albeit smaller borders to that of the Fareham borough. The largest town in the constituency, as the name suggests, is Fareham. Other communities in the constituency include Portchester, Locks Heath and Titchfield.
History
The constituency was first created in 1885, however in 1950 it was abolished to make the constituency of Fareham and Gosport. It was revived again in 1974.
